Managing network bandwidth is important, particularly as convergence brings real-time content such as voice and video to the fore. Also, organisations are becoming far more distributed, and ensuring a suitable experience for employees and partners accessing applications and data from branch offices, homes and on the road means that organisation have to take a more proactive role in what is happening across their networks.
